That’s the headline they should have gone with.
The Commercial Appeal has a profile on me today, following the renewed interest in Condipundit and the resulting hubbub of the past few days. This is all way more attention than I need, want or deserve, but I must admit it’s nice to be mentioned in the paper for doing something semi-productive… for something other than going to jail or kicking the bucket. My thanks to the CA’s Jody Callahan and Alan Spearman.
UPDATE: Meanwhile, Crystal Dueker of Americans for Dr. Rice, a 501(c)(3) organization taking the lead in the “Draft Condi” movement, is questioning my loyalty. I suppose she’s right to do so, as I admitted below. It was Crystal, by the way, who originally gave me the “Condi ‘08″ balloon pictured above. Dueker invites me to rejoin the fold and help get Condi drafted in Tennessee. How about we split the difference and I encourage the Republican primary winner to pick her as a running-mate? It looks like my sometimes-allies on the other end of the state are doing just that.

I opened up my paper this morning and exclaimed to my family, “Hey, I read that guy’s blog every day!” Very cool — congratulations. : )

I also am suddenly pretending to know you. Congrats. You deserve the attention. If you ever run for poublic office, I’ll move back to Memphis just to vote for you… if you’ll make the Police Chief :)

Ooh, I’d be scared to death to suddenly get noticed . . . all the dumb things I say on a daily basis, I’d be afraid to post ever again. But I’m sure you don’t have that problem. :)

Hey Mick,
Saw that you linked to me (I assume because of the church of christ connections and our somewhat similar politics) so I linked you back. Then I saw that you were getting calls from the mainstream media, and now I feel special being linked on such an important blog. Keep up the good work.
Oh, and I also read that you aren’t a mike fleming fan. Despite how dumb I think that man is, I listen to his show every day, because its always an adventure when he tries to put together a coherent sentence. Also, I like to call in and make him look stupid, even if I agree with his point.
